<p>Maharshi Pathanjali, an adept who is known to have written the famous Yoga aphorisms (The Yoga Sutras of Pathanjali), which concisely describe the path and experiences of Yoga. Pathanjali describes constant practice and detachment as the means of Yoga. However, Pathanjali states that this practice becomes firmly established when properly and consistently attended to over a long period of time. The obvious question now is &#8220;What to practice&#8221;? For this, Pathanjali describes the Ashtanga Yoga (the 8 limbed path to Yoga) which serves to prepare us for the experience of Yoga (Self realization). </p>
<p>The eight limbs of Yoga are: </p>
<p>1. Yama &#8211; restraints</p>
<p>Non violence (absence of desire to kill or injure )Truthfulness and sincerityNon- stealingSexual restraintGreedlessness 2. Niyama &#8211; observancesPurityContentmentConstant practiceSelf studySelf surrender or surrender to lord3. Asana &#8211; postures
<p>4. Pranayama &#8211; breath regulation</p>
<p>5. Pratyahara &#8211; control and withdrawal of senses </p>
<p>6. Dharana &#8211; concentration with effort</p>
<p>7. Dhyana &#8211; meditation or concentration without effort</p>
<p>8. Samadhi &#8211; cognitive absorption.</p>
<p>Constant Practice:</p>
<p>The first 6 steps are to be practiced constantly over a long period of time. The last two steps happen on their own. The Yama and Niyama are for training the mind for Yoga. </p>
<p>Pathanjali does not emphasize any particular techniques for Postures, Breath control and Meditation as they require guidance from a teacher. This is where we resort to Hatha Yoga classes wherein the postures and breathing techniques are described in great detail. Contemporary schools of Yoga like Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Power Yoga etc also teach various postures and breathing techniques. One is free to follow any school, but the most important thing to do is constant practice over a long period of time. One cannot ignore any of the first six limbs if one is seriously pursuing Yoga; just practicing postures is not enough in Yoga. </p>
<p>Detachment:</p>
<p>In modern Yoga there is hardly any emphasis given to detachment. Yoga today has become attached to &#8216;performance&#8217; or &#8216;achievement&#8217; of various states, especially in schools of Hatha Yoga. When practiced with attachment, the practice does not become a spiritual practice; it just becomes an exercise to make you physically fit. Therefore, it is very important to do the practices with a feeling of detachment, and with an open mind. Through the constant practice of detachment, the causes of our suffering will also eventually be eradicated. </p>
<p>Thus it is only through constant practice and detachment that we can progress in the journey of/to Yoga, irrespective of what school of practice we resort to.</p>

<p>Before I attended the Inner Awakening meditation retreat, I thought yoga was a series of uncomfortable static postures. While at the meditation retreat, the vastness of Kundalini yoga was introduced. </p>
<p>We started our mornings with the yoga of physical postures, breathing and awareness. Although initially I dreaded this exercise, I found that yoga was a marvelous way to wake up my physical and mental energy. I began to look forward to starting my day with yoga practice creating a clear, focused, relaxed mind and a strong, flexible body. My breathing took on a deeper, fuller more relaxed pattern. During the day, between the amazing and sometimes demanding meditation sessions, we would think we were tired &#8211; physically, emotionally and mentally. Then, the yoga instructor would show up for a yoga tune up. I would be completely recharged.</p>
<p>As the meditation retreat continued, my appreciation increased for Kundalini yoga as my awareness expanded with regard to the chakra energy activation. The physical posture benefits are side effects, with the main purpose being to hold the awakened Kundalini energy. To activate and awaken the Kundalini energy during our 21 day Inner Awakening, we learned and practiced pranayamas and kriyas. </p>
<p>One marvelous benefit of learning and doing Kundalini yoga at the IA meditation retreat is the presence of Paramahamsa Nithyananda, an enlightened yogic master and avatar. In other programs I have done, all the efforts have been my own. When meditating, doing Kundalini yoga with Paramahamsa Nithyananda, his energy and grace create inner permanent change &#8211; as he says: you show up and give 20%, the other 80% is my job. The effects include symptoms of depression and anxiety replaced with joy and bliss. </p>
<p>An energy healer told me, in her experience people have uncomfortable side effects when Kundalini energy is awakened. My experience of awakened Kundalini energy was exhilarating with no negative effects at all. My enjoyment of Kundalini energy has continued even 9 months after the meditation retreat. It is lovely to live a life with energized chakras, no symptoms of depression or anxiety. I used to have a specific severe anxiety, to the level of panic attack. I am pleased to report the anxiety has not returned.</p>

<p>There are almost as many explanations not far off from high-quality breathing in place of singers as near are teachers of singing.</p>
<p>I maintain taken teaching with many diverse teachers and coaches on my generation. Some very high-quality licensed singers and teachers thinking with the aim of breathing was certain way too much importance in teaching.</p>
<p>On the other employee, single well-known teacher often spent the basic several months on breathing with a another learner. <p>Four thousand years ago Yoga was practiced in India, today it is popular all over the world and in numerous different styles and forms. Not only is the popularity of this form of exercises remarkable, but so is the results and benefits that people are getting from Yoga every day. The benefits can be broadly split into three different groups &#8211; physical benefits, mental benefits and spiritual benefits. Which benefits are most important to an individual will vary based on their preconceptions and motivations, but anyone can experience beneficial results in all three areas from a prolonged use of Yoga.</p>
<p>Physical Benefits</p>
<p> The first types of benefits are those purely on a physical level. Yoga is at it&#8217;s core a group of exercises. Some disciplines will use these exercises to prepare the body for a deeper meditative process, but they will still experience physical benefits from performing them as exercises. In fact most people don&#8217;t really have a clue what most self-defense and fighting arts are really like. Nor do they understand the hardcore training that&#8217;s necessary. Take yoga for example. This is commonly thought of as a calm and relaxing regime that involves a lot of stretching. Does that sound about right? Well, you&#8217;ve probably never encountered power yoga or the real deal as some call it. It can be an overwhelming workout. </p>
<p>It&#8217;s time for some power yoga, folks. This is a great way to get in shape. Not only does it offer exercise for the entire body, it also promotes blood circulation via stretching. This is a great way to stay in good shape as you age. Remember you want to age gracefully; not quickly. With power yoga comes a lot of devotion. This goes the same for any decent fitness regime or martial art. I have known a lot of martial artists in my day and most of them definitely do not train to fight or defend themselves. Now you may be wondering what I&#8217;m talking about. Maybe you take a particular martial art and think you&#8217;ve got skills. Well, let me ask you a few things. Do you train daily? Are you in good shape? Do you always work to improve and avoid becoming complacent? Do you spar with other regularly? Do you spar realistically with practitioners of other arts regularly? If you don&#8217;t do these things, then you&#8217;re probably not too effective with your art. That&#8217;s just reality. If you don&#8217;t put it to use, and instead just go through drills in a dojo or kwoon, you&#8217;re probably not very good. How can you possibly know you can do it for real? This is why I always emphasize taking it to the next level. The same goes for boxing, Muay Thai, karate, judo or power yoga. </p>

<p>With the increasing world economy, there is need of hard work and concentration on the respective tasks. Although, it leads to growing success of the business or organization but too much work pressure make the people prone various ailments. It creates a need of a holistic approach towards health and wellness. Here comes the role of Office yoga that is intended to provide people with some useful exercises that can be easily performed in office. We can comfortably see many people doing office yoga exercises to get rid of mental tension and anxiety.</p>
<p>Office yoga is meant to teach to the &#8220;work force&#8221;, which should be more active than the average senior citizen, but there are always exceptions. </p>
<p>I am mentioning here few of the exercises that can be easily practiced in office.</p>
<p>In order to get relaxation in neck pain, do this. Sit straight on the chair with relaxing your muscle. Put your hands back of the head and apply the force on it. At the same, push your hand towards hands to generate a clash between your hands force and head force. Do it 20 seconds. Repeat this exercise 5-6 times in a single and get soothing in neck pain related to spondylosis. </p>
<p>Another simple exercise to reduce join pain is to stand straight. Move your upper body while keeping your legs firm and steady. Do this for 10-20 times in a day and get unexpected results.</p>
<p>Shoulder shrugs are a beneficial warm up for an Office Yoga class. This is a stress relieving exercise, as well as a warm up. Many office goers have stress build up in the back, shoulders, and neck. Shoulder shrugs is a preventive exercise for headaches, back spasms, and neck pain. </p>
<p>In case, you are one of those people that face a lot of pain during work, then I would suggest you to practice these office yoga exercises. </p>

<p>Although back pain is often caused by an injury to one or more of the structures of the back, it may have another cause. Factors that increase your risk for back pain and injury include getting older, having a family history of back pain, sitting for long periods, lifting or pulling heavy objects, or having a degenerative disease such as osteoporosis. Chronic pain syndrome caused by a previous injury or degenerative disease with aging can cause back pain. Many problems in the neck resulting from injury, recurring work strain, stress, and possibly joint degeneration can lead to head pain. Sudden back pain is characterized by: pain which lasts less than a month and half swelling and/or bruising in the area of injury. </p>
<p>Problems</p>
<p>Thai or yoga massage, physiotherapy or spinal therapy treatment for this type of back injury usually give good results and can reduce recovery time and prevent ongoing problems. Injuries such as sprains and fractures, mechanical problems including muscle spasms and imbalance and herniated discs, various acquired conditions of the spine including osteoporosis and rarely, infections and tumours may all give rise to back pain. </p>
<p>Still other studies have found that problems in the cervical spine can cause pain similar to headache. Walking and other cardiovascular exercises have been found to reduce and/or alleviate chronic pain problems, including a tension headache. Whether resulting from a severe or minor injury or daily wear and tear, most people will suffer from back problems at some point in their lives. </p>
<p>Work comfort and design will help most back problems that occur in the workplace which are caused by physical stress, such as being in an awkward position for a long time, making the same motions over and over, and simply using your back too much. Back pain is one of the most common medical problems, which will affect about eight out of 10 people at some point during their lives. </p>

<p>Medical reports on yoga. Many doctors are now verifying that yoga is beneficial in treating a number of health problems, including back pain. Until recently headaches were largely considered a nuisance by the medical community and many other health care providers. Headaches are one of the most common reasons that people seek both medical and body work or chiropractic treatment. Because of their greater flexibility and lack of age related degeneration, children and teenagers are much less prone than adults to develop medically significant back pain. </p>
<p>In spite of the magnitude of the problem, a simple, effective cure for backache has proved elusive to modern medical science other than yoga. With a burning sensation of shoulder pain, desk bound and computer users may suffer from back pain on different sides of the body.
